Small-group conversation in Portuguese
A small conversation circle for upper-intermediate and advanced learners. Before joining, participants vote for the themes that interest them and can suggest new ones. The themes with the most votes are the ones the group discusses.
Before a session there may be some short material to look at, such as a text, a video or a podcast. The session itself is open conversation, with notes on vocabulary and register.
Tertúlia: in Portugal, a regular get-together to talk. Groups of 3 to 4 people, 1h25 sessions once or twice a week, with a commitment of 1 to 3 months. The waitlist collects each person's availability and preferences, and the whole cycle is paid once the group is confirmed. Missed sessions can't be moved or refunded: the session goes ahead with whoever is there.
A few of the themes to vote on
- Saudade: é mesmo intraduzível?
- Turismo: bênção ou problema?
- Trabalhar menos, viver melhor?
Missing a theme? New ones can be suggested when signing up.
